On June 15th, 2007, the Martin Luther King Memorial was dedicated in Central Park in Mansfield.  This memorial was created through the efforts of people in this community to make it better.  It is being used as a model and visual aid to teach what Martin Luther King Jr. accomplished for Americans.

Each year there is a celebration on June 19th, now called the "June tenth Celebration".  It is a nationwide event that is now celebrated in Mansfield as well.  This event is about fellowship and is a way for individuals to share stories, as well as,  get to know our community.
